Congratulations to the Cork Class 3 team who qualified from their section on Sunday Feb 28th
and will now play in the all-Ireland semi finals at the end of March.

Haynes Cup/Haynes Shield 2009/10

This is a Team competition open to all players affiliated to the Munster Branch.  The competition is a one day event on Easter Mon 5^th April.  Each Team is guaranteed two games. The Competition will be run on a handicap basis and these will be decided by the Haynes Cup Committee. Panel of 4 and 4 for each game but you can play with 3 men and 3 ladies ( 1 Lady/Man plays 2 doubles and the other 2 play 1 Doubles and 1 mixed each).

The format is as follows: Two Mens Double; Two Ladies Double; Two Mixed.  All games play 2 sets to 21, one pt for each set.

Note:  To represent a Club a player must be a bona fide member of that Club.

Haynes Cup is recommended for Senior One, Senior Two and Top Junior Players and will be handicapped accordingly.  Haynes Shield is mainly for all other players.  A Senior two player can play Haynes Shield but will be handicapped accordingly.

Handicap Cup

Council will decide the specific Handicap Cup competitions based on the entries received, including amalgamating Cup competitions if necessary.   Please return the completed entry forms to 50 Nova Court, Carrigaline, Co. Cork no later than Monday 22^nd February, 2010.   This is the final date for receipt of entries and anything received after this date will NOT be included in the draw.   The price per entry is 30 euro per team.

Only one Handicap Cup team per one League team is permitted in the relevant divisional League.   Only those panels currently passed to play in the relevant Leagues can be submitted for the Handicap Cups, except for the Masters, Sherlock, Town and Riverstown Cups, where new panels may be submitted.

The submitted panels can only nominate a maximum of 8 players for the Mens and Ladies Cups, 6 men and 6 ladies for Mixed Cups, and 8 men and 8 ladies for the Master, Sherlock, Towns and Riverstown (Veteran) Cups.   For the Riverstown Cup, ladies must be over 35 and men over 40 on 1^st January 2010.

Please note a change that was sent to clubs on 20^th October 2009  -  i.e., the following players cannot play on a Handicap Cup Team  unless they have played at least 50% of the League matches.

• Players graded higher playing down with an individual handicap.
• Players who did not play in Cork competitions the previous season.

Please refer to the booklet for the full entry/game rules and regulations.

Due to the weather conditions the Munster Juvenile coaching session on the 10^th January in Ard Scoil Rios Limerick has been cancelled.

Also, Sunday's Munster Senior One and Munster Juniors have been cancelled.  Both competitions will now be held on 7^th February - venue to be announced. Due to this there will be no finals day and all competitions will be completed on the day (Senior 2 and Graduates included).
